Yandina’s Stevens Street businesses hosted a Christmas edition of the popular Twilight Markets on Friday. The markets help support local artisans, creatives and sustainable businesses and promote locally made products.

As well as the market stalls, set up at the back of existing businesses, market-goers enjoyed late night shopping in stores like Girls of Impanema, Stay wild Collective and Yandina Art & Framing as well as live music from the incredible Jesse Higgins and the beautiful duo Solua.

“Our intention is to celebrate, to celebrate ourselves, our community and our earth,” said organiser Ruby Suzie.

“We are striving to support local artisans and creatives who create beautiful sustainable products.

“Coming into this festive season - consumerism is at an all time high — so why not bring our awareness to our purchases by supporting local and ethically made products, to work towards closing the loop of waste, to create a more thriving future.

“With the current state of affairs in the world, it is so important to bring our focus back to community and create grass roots movements to move towards a more sustainable supportive future.”
